Anders Osborne and Tom Hamilton Playing in Syracuse

The Westcott Theater in Syracuse will host a pair of guitar-slinging troubadours Wednesday night. Fans of long, raucous guitar explorations will be well-sated when Anders Osborne and Tom Hamilton share the stage in successive sets.

Headliner Anders Osborne plays “fiery anthems and tumultuous confessional songs punctuated with raw, inspired guitar,” as USA Today so perfectly put it. He is touring ahead of his 12th album, Spacedust and Ocean Views, a record heavily inspired  by his hometown of New Orleans. The first single off the album, “LaFayette,” was recently premiered and is streaming over on American Songwriter.

Openers Tom Hamilton’s American Babies also come preceding their latest recording, An Epic Battle Between Dark and Light, which is due to be released on March 12. The Philadelphia native road-tested a few of the tracks during shows last fall and will likely preview parts of the album for the crowd in Syracuse. Hamilton described the new record as a “meditation on … dealing with that constant struggle of confidence and doubt.”American.Babies.Roch.28

Wednesday night’s show is an all-ages event with the doors opening at 7 p.m. and the music getting started around 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and available through the Westcott Theater website, or $25 at the door. Come on out for this rare opportunity to catch these two great guitarists jam the night away.
