On Friday, the Tedeschi Trucks Band released their fantastic new album, Let Me Get By. They gave the public just the weekend to absorb all the new tunes before dropping the dates for the follow-up to their superb 2015 Wheels of Soul tour, which featured Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings and Doyle Bramhall II. If you thought that tour was too good to be true, the band has gone and done it for a second straight year.
This year’s Wheels of Soul tour will feature Los Lobos and the North Mississippi Allstars. Last year’s tour featured plenty of guesting on some show-stopping covers. Time will tell what surprises will be in store this summer.
The tour gets underway with a show at the beautiful but underused outdoor Highland Bowl in Rochester on July 8. The urban park-setting venue hasn’t hosted a concert in a few summers, so it is welcome news for Western New York music lovers.
After a stop at the Levitate Music & Arts Festival in Western Massachusetts, the tour will visit the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on July 13. The bands then move on to dates in the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest before ending up at the previously announced show at Red Rocks in Colorado. Dates and on-sale times for all announced tour stops are below.
