Since NYS Music first reported the initial lineup for Governors Ball, the festival has released its day-by-day lineup, creating even more hype about this year’s roster.
Here’s who is at the top of the list for each of the three days: Friday, June 3 has The Strokes, Beck and Robyn; Saturday, June 4 has the Killers, M83 and Haim; and Sunday, June 5 has Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie and CHVRCHES. Early bird ticket specials have since come and gone, but three-day passes remain on sale. Those with a pre-sale code can grab individual day passes now before the public on-sale time of Thursday at 10 a.m., available from their website.

New York City’s homegrown festival is hopping on the early festival lineup train, announcing their 2016 lineup today. The sixth annual Governors Ball Music Festival returns to Randall’s Island June 3-5, 2016 with more than 50 bands announced so far including some familiar names, local talent, and plenty of sounds to feed every ear worm.
This year’s festival welcomes back two headliners who have made previous major appearances at festival: Kanye West (appeared in 2013) and The Strokes (appeared in 2014). Others playing major roles in the Governors Ball lineup this year include The Killers, Beck, M83, Gary Clark Jr., CHVRCHES, Father John Misty, and Death Cab for Cutie, among others.
Doing their part to bring NYC talent into the mix, Founders Entertainment is welcoming back Matt and Kim, rappers Action Bronson and Joey Bada$$, De La Soul, Misterwives, Betty Who, Jon Bellion, Elle King, The Knocks, London Souls, Public Access T.V., and Tor Miller. The Strokes also hail from NYC. Other New York talent featured this year will be Greenwich/Saratoga natives Phantogram, billed alongside Big Boi as Big Grams.
A special announce-day offer is available today (Jan. 8) until midnight for three-day general admission passes. Tickets remain on sale after that with a jump in prices afterward. A special note for the procrastinators out there: Tickets for Governors Ball have typically been selling out with at least few weeks to spare before the festival.
