Umphrey’s McGee to Get in Some Hacks During Masters Week

Typically, the first full weekend in April in Augusta, Georgia, is reserved for golf’s most prestigious tournament, The Masters. Umphrey’s McGee, however, will tee off that weekend in a different venue as hosts of the third annual Major Rager, a fundraiser for a charity called Turn Back the Block.

The show takes place April 7, 2016 (Thursday of Masters Week) at the Augusta Common in downtown Augusta. Tickets are available for pre-sale Dec. 2 with general sale tickets available for purchase Dec. 4. Umphrey’s McGee will play a night of covers and have titled the show, “All Night Wrong.” Any fan of the band knows how fully capable it is of covering songs of any artist from any era with aplomb.

Joining Umphrey’s on the bill for this special show are a couple of New Orleans bands, The Revivalists and Earfunk.

The Revivalists just completed a sold-out two night stand at New Orleans’ legendary Tipitina’s Nov. 21-22, regaling their hometown on the heels of their recently released album Men Amongst Mountains.

There will also be an after-party at the local haunt Sky City featuring TAUK and members of Umphrey’s McGee, billed as “TAUking McGee.”
