Lettuce Set to Crush Dead After Party in Buffalo [Ticket Giveaway]

Across Western New York, many are looking forward to heading to downtown Buffalo this week to catch the only Dead & Company date in the region. While a night of the Dead is certainly one to celebrate, there’s no need to let the party end there. Within a ten minute drive of the First Niagara Center, the current kings of funk will be waiting to show you the truth about life after the Dead. Lettuce is heading to Buffalo this Wednesday, November 11, setting up shop at The Tralf where they last funked us in February of last year. The show might not be any kind of official after party, but if you can appreciate the musicianship of The Dead, you can most certainly appreciate the inherent talent in each and every member of Lettuce.

Lettuce released their latest album, Crush, on November 6 and are coming in hot with new tunes to throw our way. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to it, check out NYSMusic’s review of the album and head to their SoundCloud page. As with any Lettuce show, be prepared to dance uncontrollably. The group has the unique ability of mixing the sounds of classic funk like James Brown, P-Funk, and Tower of Power with current hip hop and other sensibilities to make an insatiable groove. Lettuce is slated to hit at 11pm, leaving ample time to get from First Niagara Center over to The Tralf. If you need some convincing, check out the video below taken in Ashville, NC just last week!

For those still in need of tickets, you can purchase them here. Additionally, you can head over to the NYSMusic Facebook and Twitter pages for a chance to win a pair that we’re giving away the day of the show. The concert is a general admission event with tickets selling for $22 ahead and $25 the day of the show. Doors open at 7pm with DJ JeffRepeater going on at 8pm, Jaw Gems at 9:45pm, and Lettuce hitting at 11pm.

Lettuce all be Grateful for both bands return to the Queen City!
