Twenty four years later in 2012, Fleck announced that the band would go on a hiatus with no clear time frame for when it would get back together. The hiatus allowed members of the band to work on their own projects and served as a break for the band while they were on a high note. Fleck said in the announcement, “I look forward to the next time when the Flecktones play together again.”
Fleck took to Twitter recently in response to a fan question about when that eventual reunion might be.

While there are no official announcements or statements from the band, Fleck’s Twitter response brings promising news that the reunion may be in the near future.
In the meantime, Victor Wooten has regular tour dates on the table with stops at the Towne Crier Cafe on Jan. 31 and in NYC at The Blue Note on Feb. 2. Howard Levy has a few performances scheduled albeit outside of the state, and Jeff Coffin has been busy with some solo projects and filling the shoes of Dave Matthews Band saxophonist LeRoi Moore after his untimely passing in 2009.
