First words of a NYE rumor are gold, shows which may be in the winter’s cold. The early mill’s a-bustling, but only a short rustling. Then Tweezer subsides to the freezer, so the Rangers sank to leisure. So 34th crosses 7th, where Phish plays New Year’s.

That’s right, Phish appears to be making this upcoming New Year’s run at Madison Square Garden for four nights, December 30, 31 and January 1 and 2. No official announcement has come yet; however the leading rumor has been convincingly confirmed through a leak in the dates.

For those who didn’t manage to get tickets to the sold-out Riviera Maya resort shows a couple of weeks later, the extended MSG run will be a satisfying consolation prize. Perhaps some will be lucky to check their hockey skates for sandals at the airport in January, but for the rest of us we’ll gladly bask in the Garden.
