BREAKING: Phases of the Moon Festival Canceled

Chalk up another canceled festival in 2015: The three-day Phases of the Moon Music and Art Festival was canceled today.

Organizers said they had to cancel due to unforeseen obstacles including the only road leading to the festival being closed. Highway 23 in Arkansas experienced a hill-slide this past June, and the road is still closed.

The event, which last year produced a number of fan unhappy with how the event was organized and issues that arose due to too much mud, was supposed to take place on Oct. 16-18 at Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas.

The Phases 2015 lineup was to included The Disco Biscuits, STS9, Axe The Cables, moe., Yonder Mountain String Band and Lunar Landing Conspiracy, to name a few.

Festival organizers stated that a separate notice will be sent to tickets holders on how to get a refund for their purchase. This year’s festival was supposed to merge the Phases of the Moon festival with Pipeline Productions Harvest Fest.

Phases organizers posted a statement on their Facebook page about the cancellation:

Dear Phases of the Moon Community,
It saddens us to inform you that Phases of the Moon Music & Art Festival has to be canceled. We were very excited to have had the opportunity to continue the Phases adventure in Arkansas this year. Unfortunately, due to a significant number of unforeseen obstacles, including the continued closure of the only road leading into the festival site, we were left with no choice but to cancel the event.

We apologize sincerely for this inconvenience and hope to see all of you at great live music and events in the near future. A separate notice will be sent to ticket holders concerning refunds.
Thank you for your love and support.

Sincerely,
The Phases Team

Phases organizers later commented on their post:

Phases Community, Unfortunately, due to a significant number of unforeseen obstacles and compounding issues including the continued closure of the main road leading into the festival site, we were left with no choice but to cancel the event.
As heartbreaking as the decision was, we feel it is in the best interest of everyone including YOU the festival-goer that we cancel. We may have only spent one life changing year together filled with feel good music, awe inspiring artwork, joy and celebration all in a transformative festival experience but those memories will always live on… Thank you everyone for your love and support. The Phases Team
