Maynard James Keenan, best known as the prolific lead singer of Tool, has announced that his electro-rock side project Puscifer will release its newest studio album Money Shot, on Oct. 30. It will include an already-released single entitled “Grand Canyon,” which features an intense video set in a desert scene, representing Keenan’s Arizona roots.
The 10-track release will be Puscifer’s third album. The band’s two previous albums, “V” is for Vagina and Conditions of My Parole, were released in 2007 and 2011 respectively.
Keenan founded Puscifer in 1995 as an experimental solo career that Keenan has described as “simply a playground for the various voices in [his] head.”
The band has featured rotating members around Keenan, with him as the only official member. Most recently Puscifer has toured with Carina Round as a co-vocalist, Mat Mitchell on guitar, Matt McJunkins as bassist, Jeff Friedl as drummer, and Juliette Commegere as keyboardist. The group hasn’t formally performed live since May 2014, with Keenan’s frequent obligations with Tool.
