Gathering of the Vibes promoters today confirmed that Warren Haynes will be playing a full set with Railroad Earth as well as the special commemorative all-star set. RRE and Haynes have been collaborating a lot lately and already have announced additional tour dates outside of the festival.
Already with a stacked lineup, Gathering of the Vibes has announced, through a press release from festival founder Ken Hays, that Gov’t Mule guitarist Warren Haynes will play two sets, one of which will feature a truly all-star lineup to celebrate Vibes’ 20th anniversary.
The super jam will be called Vibes 20th Anniversary Spectacular, and features saxophonist Branford Marsalis, Meters founding bassist George Porter Jr., while Marco Benevento handles keys and Joe Russo will be behind the drum kit. Jackie Greene, who has worked with Phil Lesh and the Black Crowes among many others, will also be on guitar.
Also added to the bill was John Brown’s Body, Tea Leaf Green, Cabinet, Trevor Hall, Earphunk, Banooba, Nattali Rize & Notis, Band Together CT and Fly Golden Eagle.
The String Cheese Incident featuring David Grisman and Peter Rowan, Wilco, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Weezer, Gregg Allman, Tedeschi Trucks band and Billy and the Kids are among other headliners for Gathering of the Vibes.
There are nearly 50 bands on the bill for the festival, held July 30 through August 2 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Ct.
