BREAKING: Cake-Queous? Aqueous Announces Cake Themed Set in Buffalo

Buffalo’s Aqueous is no stranger to innovation. Over the band’s nine year history they have broken musical boundaries on multiple occasions – a Phish tribute, a Super Mario themed set, the dual band mashup of AquaPod (Dopapod + Aqueous) – which will perform a second time at this years Buffalove festival, and of course last years four week themed residency at hallowed WNY music venue Nietzsche’s. The band excels at honoring their diverse influences and thinking outside the box.

Announced today – the upcoming April 18 show at Iron Works will include a full second set themed around the music of alternative rock heroes: Cake. Loosely used – the word “theme” could indicate anything going down with this band, so expect something far more than a tribute set. The first set will focus on Aqueous’ diverse and excellent catalog of originals.

According to AQ’s info-filled web-site the foursome has only previously covered the Cake songs “Short Skirt, Long Jacket” and “Stickshifts and Safety Belts” so lucky AQuaintances should expect a plethora of sugary debuts. Bring your own ice cream.

Buffalo’s Iron Works is at 49 Illinois St – right by the First Niagara Center. Doors at 9PM, music at 10PM. Tickets available online here. Get them now – this show will absolutely sell out. 21+
