alt-J Adds Rochester Tour Date

alt-J’s new slew of North American tour dates now includes a September stop in Rochester.

The British indie rock band, which just played a sold-out show at MSG at the end of March, is set to play the Main Street Armory in Rochester on Wednesday, Sept. 23. Tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. today.

The band is currently making their way throughout the U.S. before heading to Australia in May, then Singapore and the Philippines, then Europe for quite a few dates. They will be in North America in July for a quick run that includes a few festivals like Lollapalooza and Osheaga. They head back to Europe for the rest of August before starting their North American fall tour on Sept. 12 in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Founded in 2007, alt-J is touring in support of their sophomore album called This is All Yours, which was released in September 2014. The album has received favorable reviews, and reached top spots on U.K. charts and on two Billboard genre charts in the U.S.

Bassist Gwil Sainsbury left the band in January 2014 because he was unhappy with living the rock star lifestyle – but he was replaced by Cameron Knight – who played on the new album.
