Disc Jam Presents announced today the change of location for the 5th installment of the festival to Stephentown, NY, with the festival expanding to four days, now June 11-14, 2015.
Citing the need of a long term home for the event, Tony Scavone, owner of Disc Jam Presents said, “We simply outgrew our last venue and are very excited to be making the move and it will allow us the space to grow the event for years to come. We signed a 3 year agreement and have already begun to break ground to install an 18 hole disc golf course sponsored by Innova Disc Golf. To be able to offer a festival location with an onsite course has always been our goal.”
The property has a long history of hosting music festivals, including Bella Terra among others in recent years. Set on the New York/Massachusetts border in Stephentown, MA off Route 22, the property provides Disc Jam a venue in which to grow and expand as demand for the festival increases.
The now 4-day event will feature a completely new disc golf course, along with options for car side, field or woods camping. A centralized location for major markets in New England and New York State, the commute to the festival also intends to decrease traffic issues and set the stage for a more permanent home for Disc Jam.
In addition to venue change, Disc Jam has added another headliner to the lineup is Electron, the recently reunited all-star super group from Philadelphia featuring bassist Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner on keys (Disco Biscuits) Tommy Hamilton on guitar (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead) and drummer Mike Greenfield (Lotus). Details on late night additions to the lineup, Silent Disco, workshops, art installations and disc golf tournaments will be announced soon. For more information, head to www.discjammusicfestival.com
