My Morning Jacket has announced the release of its seventh studio album – The Waterfall – which will be available on May 4. The Waterfall features ten new tracks and MMJ has widely released the lead single“Big Decisions.” Recorded on ATO Records/Capitol Records, Jim James describes the album-making process in Stinson Beach, CA as “psychedelic and focused. It was almost like we lived on our own little moon out there.”
The band will embark on an extensive global tour in support of The Waterfall. New York stops include a headlining set at Governor’s Ball on June 5 and a midweek stop Upstate in Lewiston on July 22. In June, they will play Field Trip East in Canada and the tour wraps up with late August and early September dates in Europe. They are also booked to play Bonnaroo.
