Chantal Vacher has wanted to be a music journalist since she saw Eminem on the cover of Rolling Stone in sixth grade. This, combined with an inherent love of the written word led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She graduated in 2009.
Music and traveling have been her two of greatest passions in life, and following various bands around the country has been the perfect blend of the two. Bouncing around the US, she’s lived in New York, Massachusetts, Oregon and has traveled to 17 different countries.
She has been on the NYSMusic team since August of 2013, writing about diverse acts such as Eminem and Rubblebucket. Her musical tastes have evolved from her undying love of NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and all of the other 90s pop stars whose pictures she plastered all over her wall, (Tiger Beat anyone?) to a much more polished taste. Her musical bucket list now includes Immortal Technique, Daft Punk, AIR, Alison Krauss and Union Station, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. She currently lives in France, where she chronicles her misadventures on her blog.
