Port Chester welcomes Flogging Molly to The Capitol Theatre on Tuesday December 2 with special guests The Mighty Stef and The Pasadena Band. Led by the driving sounds of Flogging Molly, the evening will include a variety of sounds by their two supporting acts.
Led by Dublin native Dave King, Flogging Molly has used that Irish influence to brew up a Celtic punk style that has earned them a popular following with shows ranging in size from concert halls to major festivals. The band is currently touring ahead of a new album to be released in 2015, which is currently in the works. Their inclusion of traditional Irish music elements in their songwriting has defined their sound since forming in the mid-late 1990’s.
The Mighty Stef hail from Dublin, Ireland. With an extensive recording and touring history the band has built a sort of cult following back home. They work an alternative rock sound to their music, akin to their American counterparts such as Arcade Fire and Band of Horses, just to name a few references. The Mighty Stef are joining Flogging Molly on their current tour.
Hailing from Pasadena, MD the Pasadena Band is led by singer Joey Harkum and has played over 700 shows since forming in May 2000. The band brings a singer-songwriter driven rock sound with overtones of reggae and ska.
Tickets range from $29.95 to $45 and can be purchased here. Doors: 7:00; Show: 8:00.
The Capitol Theatre is only one of two stops Flogging Molly is making in New York, with a stop two nights later on December 4 at the Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls.
