Would you believe me if I told you that Athens, Ohio and Castleton, Vermont have something in common? Here’s a hint: It has nothing to do with mountains. It was at these locations that two tremendous progressive jam bands were birthed. Luckily for Syracuse Orange, Twiddle and Papadosio will grace the Westcott Theater stage together on Oct. 15, delivering an evening of experimental electronic ecstasy.
With their breakthrough 2012 album T.E.T.I.O.S. and a recent live album release in 2014, Papadosio has struck audiences across the nation with their organic musical improvisation and engaging stage presence. While their Imaginal Cells Tour is underway, they will make three short stops in Upstate New York: the Haunt in Ithaca on Oct. 14, the Westcott Theater the following day, and then the Town Ballroom in Buffalo on Oct. 22.
Joining Papadosio on the three Upstate dates is none other than Twiddle, who’s genre bending, three-dimensional music can only be summed up in the title of their first record, Natural Evolution of Consciousness. This album, along with their sophomore album Somewhere on the Mountain, provides a plethora of quirky-titled tunes that are sure to bring the funk to Syracuse. There’s no doubt that Twiddle and Papadosio are going to deliver quite the transcendental performance, so make sure you buy your tickets now (through the Westcott Theatre here) and enjoy the ride!
