Colorado’s Pop Rock band, The Fray, is headlining Fall Night In, sponsored by 99.5 The River, at the Palace Theatre in Albany on Sept. 9. It was just about nine years ago that their debut album, How to Save a Life, was released, and launched the band into a seemingly overnight success. Their first single, “Over My Head (Cable Car),” enjoyed immediate success, and thanks to Grey’s Anatomy, the single “How to Save a Life,” became a major hit both in the US and internationally. While their subsequent releases never enjoyed the same reception, the band has remained active. The current tour is promoting their newest album, Helios, which was just released in February.
Also joining The Fray will be the two-person Pop band, A Great Big World, who are most famous for their single, “This is the New Year” (2012) thanks to Glee and Andy Grammer, best known for “Keep Your Head Up (2011). Grammer, by the way, has somewhat local ties; he was raised in Chester, NY and attended Binghamton University.
