315 Central Region: Vote in the First Round of March Madness!

Upstateology Breakdown: This might be the toughest region to come out of. You have a metal rock god in Dio, 70’s classic rockers Blue Oyster Cult and guitar god Joe Bonamassa in the top 4. moe. is 3rd and has called 315 home for moe.down since 1999. Joanne Shenandoah celebrates the Oneida Nation heritage and has won a Grammy for her singing while Martin Sexton’s songwriting and singing have made him a national touring act of great influence. Bluegrass legend Tony Trischka, Syracuse University product Ra Ra Riot and Geneva’s own Gym Class Heroes all pose serious threats with large fan bases to support these acts. A variety of sounds fill out the next few slots, with thick funk from Sophistafunk, jamgrass from Floodwood, classic 90’s jam band Dexter Grove and Los Blancos who have won many regional awards for their blues. Rapper/beatboxer Joe Driscoll and bluegrass band Birdseed Bandits round out this region that will surely be a tough one to emerge victorious from. Best of luck to the 315 bands! – Pete Mason
