Melvin Seals and JGB to Perform This Sunday in Saratoga Springs

Melvin Seals became the organist for the Jerry Garcia Band in 1981, and after Garcia’s death in 1995 the group could have disbanded, but Seals gathered some of the old members together to form JGB. For the better part of the last 15 years, this legacy lives on with a group of musicians who have played Grateful Dead related music throughout their careers and it shows through in the JGB shows.

The band will grace Saratoga Springs with its presence on Sunday March, 2 at the Putnam Den. The Balkun Brothers, a highly accredited blues outfit ripping it up throughout the Northeast will open the show. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased through the Putnam Den’s website. This will surely be a show no fan of the Jerry or the blues should miss.
