Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad to Play The Haunt With Beat The Grid February 20th

Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad will be performing with Beat The Grid at The Haunt in Ithaca on Thursday February 20th. Giant Panda is a multifaceted Reggae/Roots/Americana quintet from Rochester, NY. Since the release of their debut album Slow Down in 2006, the group has been touring the nation playing 800 shows in the past six years.

Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad has mastered their own version of dub that has grown immensely popular in the festival scene. Their outstanding rhythm section and “feel good” lyrics make for the perfect dancing music that anyone can enjoy. Their versatility in style is what makes Panda so unique. Not only has the band become known for its warm dub music, but they also released a bluegrass/country album in 2012 titled Country. The combination of banjo and keys makes for a heart-warming sound similar to that of their dub. The opening act, Beat The Grid, is a new group whose music has a distinct rock and dub mixture that should warm up the crowd nicely.

Giant Panda has just recently returned from their West Coast tour and is planning to release a new studio album this summer. Doors for the show open at 8pm and the performance is schooled to begin at 9. The cost will be $18 at the venue or $15 presale.
