Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park and Aerosmith have each been named as the headline acts for next June’s, three-day, Download Festival in England.
The Bad Boys of Boston were named today to the festival’s billboard. The news comes exactly 43 years since Aerosmith played their first gig at Nipmuc Regional High School in Mendon, Massachusetts.
Avenged Sevenfold and Linkin Park were confirmed each on Monday. ”It’s been too long since we’ve been to England and we’re sincerely f**king charged to be coming back,” said Aerosmith guitarist, Joe Perry. Aerosmith last played at the festival in 2010.
Alter Bridge is slated to take the stage immediately before Steven Tyler and the boys.
Fall Out Boy was also named to take the stage in Donnington Park.
As more names are certain to be announced, the festival organizers appear to have reeled in the big names to close out each of the three nights:
Friday night: Rob Zombie, followed by Avenged Sevenfold
Saturday night: Fall Out Boy, followed by Linkin Park
Sunday night: Alter Bridge, followed by Aerosmith
Download is in it’s twelfth year, and has earned the reputation of being the largest global venue for hard rock.
