The Night Lights Music Festival has announced its line-up for 2017. The festival, now in it’s seventh year, will be anchored by space rock innovators Papadosio and funktronic masters Dopapod. The three night event takes place at the Heron in Sherman, NY, August 24- 26.
The Night Lights weekend will be highlighted by three sets from hometown favorites Aqueous, including an AQoustic set on the venues intimate Cafe Stage. The band returns to the festival for the sixth year. Mihali Savoulidis (Twiddle) will serve as the weekend’s Artist at Large, a first for this year’s event. Savoulidis will play alongside some of his favorite musicians during the weekend’s Mihali and Frends. The weekend will also feature Colorado based electronic outfit SunSquabi and Austin based psych rockers The Bright Light Social Hour, as well as the Chicago based quartet Mungion.
This year’s diverse lineup features festival mainstays Lazlo Hollyfeld and Aircraft, along with Western New York favorites Intrepid Travelers, Folkfaces and Space Junk. Tribute sets this year include a Lotus set from Cleveland based band Broccoli Samurai and a Sublime tribute from Buffalo’s Funktional Flow. Albany’s Mister F will be showing off their 8-bit savy in a video game set dubbed “Game Genie” and Relics returns for another Pink Floyd tribute. The weekend will also feature Nightfall of Diamonds, an all-star ensemble of musicians celebrating the music of the Grateful Dead.
In addition to the music, activities will include yoga, swimming at the beach, biking/ hiking, mushroom walks, and light installations. Food, craft beer from Community Beer Works, craft artisans and a variety of vendors will be available on site.
A limited amount of tickets for the weekend, including camping, are on sale starting May 18 for only $99. Ticket price will increase to $125 either on June 1 or when sold out. Parking and RV passes are available as well. Day passes will also be available.
