2017 Electric Daisy Carnival In NYC Scrapped

Electronic dance music lovers making their usual plans to attend the Electric Daisy Carnival in NYC will have to head to Las Vegas for their EDC fix in 2017 instead. Your EDM reports that co-founder and CEO of Insomniac Events, Pasquale Rotella, posted on Facebook that New York will not be going down this year. The post has since been deleted.

Rotella’s statement read:

Although EDC New York 2016 was one of my favorites hosted in the Big Apple, we’ve decided to take a break in 2017. We hope many of you East Coast Headliners will join us in Vegas. We’ll have an Art Car sound system paying homage to New York City DJs past and present. As I write this, I’ve gotta mention all the hard work and creativity that is going into the completely reimagined kineticFIELD, as well as an entirely new ADDITIONAL stage. The team and I are energized about an epic EDC Las Vegas 2017!

Since 2012, Electric Daisy Carnival has taken over New York  during one weekend in May. The festival has seen some of the best DJs/producers, along with upcoming artists on the Electronic Dance Music scene over the years including current number one DJ Martin Garrix, Armin Van Buuren, Kaskade, Carl Cox, Krewella, Eric Prydz, 3LAU, David Guetta and many more.

EDC consists of several high production, eye-popping stage set ups over the weekend that set the tone for an elaborate fantasy atmosphere. Some of those stages include the ultra sacred kineticFIELD, cosmicMEADOW, circuitGROUNDS, neon GARDEN, bassPOD, wasteLAND, upside-downHOUSE and artCARS.  Rotella stated that the kineticFIELD will get a makeover, with a brand new stage being added to the mix in 2017. Fans are hoping that the new stage will be devoted to the Trance side of EDM.

EDC in Las Vegas will take place the weekend of June 16-18.
