Jamestown natives 10,000 Maniacs are touring in support of their latest live release, Playing Favorites, which was released in June. Their tour continues with three nights in New York. They play the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Thursday, Nov. 17. The following night, Nov. 18, they hit up Bay Shore at the Boulton Center for the Performing Arts. They close out their three night run at the Cohoes Music Hall on Saturday, Nov. 19.

10,000 Maniacs helped define college rock through the 1980s as part of the first wave of “alternative” music, along with bands like R.E.M. and the Replacements. They have sold over 10 million records in their 30-plus year career. Playing Favorites was recorded in their hometown of Jamestown and includes live renditions of some of their most celebrated songs, including “These Are the Days,” “Because the Night,” “Hey Jack Kerouac,” “Trouble Me” and “What’s the Matter Here.”

Tickets for the three shows are currently on sale.
