NYS Music Presents: Saturdays at Nietzche’s

Fall is officially here!  That means October is just around the corner.  And October means Saturday nights at Nietzsche’s with talent presented by NYS Music! Nietzsche’s is a bar and concert venue in Buffalo, NY.  One claim to fame is that they’ve won “Best Live Music Venue in Artvoice’s Best in Buffalo for 3 years!”  Come out on October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th to see a fantastic slew of talented artists. That’s right, that’s 5 Saturdays worth of quality entertainment.

On October 1st, support the musical stylings of The Tins, Tele Novella, Applennium, and Jacob Peter Band.  The Tins are native to Buffalo, but they got their start jamming at SUNY Binghamton almost 6 years ago.  They’re sure to hit you with some indie rock jams.  Tele Novella is making quite the trip from their home in Austin, TX.  Their speciality is pop: psych, indie, macabre etc; they’re ones to watch. Applennium also hails from Buffalo, and is one of those bands that loves playing together because they were buds before bandmates. So that means ultimate vibing.  Jacob Peter Band, the third artist from Buffalo is sure to put you in a good mood with chill acoustic jams.  These great acts are sure to set the tone correctly for the rest of the month!

The following week, check out Stereo Nest, Space Junk, and JeffRepeater.  Stereo Nest is the project of a man named Collin Jones from Rochester, NY.  He utilizes guitar looping pedals and electronic sounds into a brilliant conglomeration of sound- something you won’t want to miss.  Coming up from Virginia is a rock group called Space Junk.  Their self-described genre is “interstellar psychedelic comic book rock and roll.”  Expect some trippy (awesome) stuff.  JeffRepeater is all about electronic music production and is sure to get the party going with some dance tracks.

On October 15th, you can see The Observers and The Honey Smugglers.  You can observe The Observers in their home city as they play some folk/acoustic tunes. The instrumentation for this group is rad: Acoustic guitar, mandolin, ukulele, upright bass, and drums.  The Honey Smugglers specialize in JamGrass, Folk, Americana, and more.  The group differentiates from others with their inclusion of viola and cello to their work.

Check out Vibe & Direct on October 22nd.  This trio comes from Cleveland, OH jamming out on drums, guitar, bass, and collective vocals.  They pride themselves on energetic shows in the  “psychelectrojam” style.  This is the perfect show for those who love to DANCE!

Rounding out the show series on October 29th are The Irving Klaws, The Stripteasers, and The Rabies.  This is the closest date to Halloween, and will be celebrated accordingly.  Yes, that means you should dress in costume.  The Irving Klaws will provide some rock and punk jams with skill that comes after 20 years of playing together.  This ought to be quite the reunion for the three groups!
