Zach Deputy Announces New Album Release, Fall Tour Dates

Georgia-based multi-instrumentalist, Zach Deputy, will be releasing his fourth album Wash it in the Water on September 9. His tour kicks off on Aug. 4, hitting numerous stops on the East coast, including Mazzstock Festival in Marlboro, NY on Aug. 26.

Deputy’s superior songwriting and looping skills have informed his musical aptitude, gaining acclaim for his unique style, which infuses hip hop, funk, folk, pop and soca and calypso rhythms, while tapping into Latin, Caribbean and African influence from his diverse background.

He did the recordings in spontaneous sessions, playing every single instrument on the album himself. Deputy has said in a press release, “Each time I recorded it was mostly just for fun. I wasn’t trying to make anything happen, I was just going with what felt good.”

Deputy’s last album, “Another Day” in 2011, was a step away from his eclectic rhythm and blues, instead showcasing his songsmith skills with heartfelt lyrics and melodies.

However, Zach Deputy continues to amaze with his extraordinary talent of performing and recording in multiple contexts, never too far from his roots.

“Because of the music I was raised on, I’ve always heard rhythm in a very tropical, Latin-esque way—it’s something that resonates in the deepest parts of me,” says Deputy, who grew up in South Carolina. “When I was a kid my grandma would play a lot of salsa and soca and make me get up and dance to it, so in a way this is me putting my own spin on all that and bringing those sounds into a whole new era.”

“Chevrolet” is the first track off of the new album. See Fall tour dates below.
