The Massachusetts-based Bohemian Folk Punk band Bella’s Bartok, are set to play the Summer on the Hudson concert series at Riverside Park in Manhattan on July 10th. The band will be promoting their new album Change Yer Life, which was released to a sold-out crowd at Pearl Street, Northampton on March 26, of this year.
Summer on the Hudson is an annual outdoor arts & culture festival that takes place from 59th street to 153rd along the Hudson River at Riverside Park & West Harlem Piers Park. The events feature a mix of music concerts, dance performances, movies showings, DJ dance parties, children’s shows, special day-long events, wellness activities, and much more. With free admission and all-ages welcome, the whole family can join in the festivities.
Bella’s Bartok consists of Jesse Putnam (Accordion, Mandolin, Guitar, Trumpet and Vocals), Asher Putnam (Vocals and all-around entertainer), Chris “Fancy” Kerrigan (Guitar, Clarinet, and Vocals), Dan Niederhauser (Bass and Vocals), Amory Drennan (Trombone/Banjo and Vocals), and Crisco (Drums/Percussion and Trumpet). Their music is often referred to as a modern-pop klezmer, pushing the envelope more towards the eclectic side of the Eastern European style, forging a new pop sound. The ensemble has also shared the stage with the likes of Rubblebucket, The Indigo Girls, and the Meat Puppets.
This eclectic group of guys have multiple awards under their belts, including The Valley Advocate’s Best Band in the Valley 2014 and (2) Deli Magazine’s Best of New England awards. With a mezmerizing theatricality, Bella’s Bartok shows not only entertain, but they invite you to partake in the wild party that each performance envokes.
