An Instagram post surfaced a couple days ago on the account of Gorillaz North America, a Gorillaz fan club with a small following, but one that certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed by the like of Jamie Hewlett. If you’re not familiar with who Mr. Hewlett is, he’s the artist whose signature resides at the bottom of all Gorillaz artwork.
Jamie also said "LOADS OF PEOPLE are on new Gorillaz and that's all I can say." And, "it will be released next year" and "its something special, really fuckin special and we are all VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT!" #JamieHewlett #JamieSaid #AskedForExclusive #For #GoriilazNorthAmerica #ThisIsWhatHeGave #HeWas #AboveAndBeyond #Amazing #Gorillaz2017 #Gorillaz #GorillazWatch (pic creds to @woodward_gallery)
According to the post, Hewlett is confirming that the highly-anticipated new album from the mult-genre band from Essex, England will be ready for fans’ ears and eyes in 2017. Initially announced for a 2016 release, Hewlett explained to Gorillaz North America that the new album can’t be rushed because it’s really…special.
