Rock Carnival returns featuring farewell to heavy metal legends

Twisted-Sister-1-689x370_cThe second annual Rock Carnival will return to Energy Park in Lakewood, New Jersey, Sept. 30.

The three-day event that attracted 50,000 attendees its first year will feature carnival rides and entertainment, food trucks, beer gardens, professional wrestling and of course live music. Most notably, Rock Carnival will be home to Twisted Sister’s final performance in the Tri-State area.

Twisted Sister, who brought us such ’80s anthems as “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock,” are closing their 40-year career with their 40 and F*ck it tour. The band is originally from Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and is bringing their farewell tour to Rock Carnival for one final performance in the area where it all began. Mike Portnoy of the Winery Dogs and Transatlantic will fill in on drums for A.J. Pero, who passed away in 2015.

Other confirmed performers are Overkill, Ace Frehley, Fuel, Monster Magnet, Tom Keifer’s Cinderella, Dokken, Texas Hippie Coalition, Doro, Four by Fate, Killcode, Jester and American Angel. Also, Friday night attendees can enjoy “Classic Rewind,” which will feature rock legends performing with some of our favorite artists from the 2015 line up.
