The Jauntee Set to Jaunt About

Boston-based improv act the Jauntee kicks off its spring and summer tour tonight with a date at the Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs. Saturday the 14th finds the band spreading the funk all over Funk ‘N Waffles in Syracuse.

The tour has the band meandering up and down the East Coast, making stops in Oneonta, Brooklyn and Disc Jam in Stephentown. Throughout the tour, the Jauntee will be joined by several bands including Brooklyn’s Teddy Midnight in Saratoga. Among other artists sharing the stage on this trek are Psylo Joe, Dr. Bacon, CBDB and Backup Planet, KINGS, Sprocket and Universal Sigh.

The band will also perform at two Phish after-parties at Quixotes in Denver for those making the trip to Dick’s.

The Jauntee draws from a wide range of influences, mashing together funk, rock, jazz, progressive, bluegrass, psychedelic and ambient music into an improvisational stew. The band released its sophomore effort Excelsior this past fall and has been hitting the road hard in support of the new album. Several festival dates have been lined up throughout the summer as well.
