It’s time to set sail, because Jam Cruise just released a badass lineup for the 15th installment of the epic musical sea voyage featuring New York-based jam kings moe. and the original lineup of funk masters the Meters.
moe. will also play the official pre-cruise show in Fort Lauderdale at Revolution Live.
Also appearing in the stacked lineup will be Griz, Galactic, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Benevento Russo Duo, Lettuce, Vulfpeck, up-and-coming funkers Turkuaz, and many, many others.
Every artist on the bill will perform two shows except for Benevento Russo Duo, Frequinox, Lebo & Friends (which includes Robert Walter, Jay Lane, Garret Sayers and Lesley Grant), Reed Mathis Presents Electric Beethoven (which includes Jay Lane, Todd Stoops, Cochrane McMillan and Clay Welch), Nikki Glaspie’s Super Jam, Everyone Orchestra and Nathan Moore.
In a Facebook post announcing the event, Jam Cruise called the lineup “an incredible mix of regulars, first-time performers, much-anticipated reunions and spectacular supergroups.”
moe. was last on the bill for Jam Cruise 11 in 2013. The last two years, the band has brought fans to Jamaica for their own Tropical Throe.down, which this January included a show at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville in Ocho Rios, one of Jam Cruise 15’s port stops. There will be no Tropical Throe.down this year, though, according to moe. guitarist Al Schnier:

Jam Cruise 15 runs Jan. 20 to 25, 2017. It takes off from Miami, Florida, and includes stops in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman Island. The party last visited those ports on Jam Cruise 8. The cruise will take place on the Norwegian Pearl, a smaller ship than last year’s. Jam Cruise 14, held in January of this year, sold out in December 2015.
Pre-booking ran through yesterday, and those who are pre-booked will get the opportunity to book between May 3 and 10, depending on how many times they’ve Jam Cruised before. General on sale, if there are cabins after the pre-booking period, begins Thursday, May 12. This is going to be one hot ticket!
