Original Post:

Western New York’s favorite outdoor venue, Artpark in Lewiston, created a buzz among social media fans this morning with a video post announcing additional acts booked for summer 2016. And with the spring-like weather we’ve been experiencing this week, this diverse lineup of artists is another welcomed indicator that summer is on its way.

In January, we dropped the news about the first three artists scheduled for the summer series: the Band Perry, Ben Harper and the Criminals and Ben Folds with New York City chamber ensemble yMusic. Artpark offers two concert series each summer — First Niagara presents Tuesdays in the Park and Coors Light Wednesdays — with Grammy Award-winning sibling trio the Band Perry playing on July 5, Ben Harper and the Criminals taking the stage on July 12, after seven years off from the touring scene, and singer-songwriter Ben Folds booked for July 13. Electronic ’80s synthpop icon Howard Jones with Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) and Barenaked Ladies will also make a stop at Artpark during the Last Summer on Earth Tour this June 14.

The new slate of artists to appear at Artpark this summer starts with ’80s countrified rock band Blue Rodeo with special guest Basia Bulat on June 21. Legendary hair metal and glam-pop band Whitesnake will make a stop at the amphitheater on June 28 during their Greatest Hits Tour 2016. Ray LaMontagne plays on June 29 in support of his latest and sixth album, Ouroboros. Former Oasis frontman and his new band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are billed for July 6, and the “Come Sail Away” rockers, Styx, hit the stage on Aug. 16.

General admission tickets are $12 in advance or $17 the week of the show. Reserved seating tickets are priced at $27, and ticket bundles for the summer series are also for purchase. Tickets for most of the concerts are available now through the venue’s website, and general public passes for the newest concert additions go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. via the Artpark website, by phone or at the box office.
