Eleanor Friedberger will finally return to the Bug Jar, a little over 8 years since she played an energetic sold out set with her band the Fiery Furnaces early in 2008. A lot has changed since then, and the front woman for the Furnaces has successfully re-jiggered herself into a songwriter with a more straight-forward approach, both lyrically and musically.

Friedberger released her fantastic third solo album, New View, earlier this year and begins a tour in support this week. She will make a stop at the Bug Jar on Sunday, February 21. Advance tickets are available at the Bug Jar web site for $13. Tickets will be $15 at the door for 21+ and $17 for under. Doors open at 8pm with the music getting started around 9:30pm. Icewater, a 4-piece out of New York, recorded New View with Friedberger. They will pull double duty Sunday night, as they will open the show and perform as Friedberger’s backing band.
