Elise Testone Kicks Off Tour Tonight At Brooklyn Bowl

New Jersey native and American Idol finalist Elise Testone has set dates for an East Coast run, kicking off tonight at the Brooklyn Bowl, billed as “Happy Funk’n Mardis Gras.”

The Brooklyn Bowl show will feature an all-star lineup including keyboardist Todd Stoops (RAQ), saxophonist James Casey (TAB), trumpeter Jay Jennings (Snarky Puppy), trombonist Matthew Hartnett (Lauryn Hill), guitarist Bob Lanzetti (Snarky Puppy), guitarist Adam Fallen (Skyler Grey), bassist Antoine Katz (Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles), drummer Sydney Driver (Rhythm & Stealth) and vocalist Sami Stevens. They will perform the music of The Meters, Allen Toussaint, Tower Of Power, Dr. John, James Brown and other New Orleans and funk/soul favorites. The Outer Borough Brass Band will open the festivities.

The remainder of the tour is a short seven-night run through South Carolina and the Northeast. Testone’s band for the tour is made up of guitarist Adam Fallen (Skyler Grey), bassist Jed Lingat, keyboardist Trey Cooper, drummer Avishai Rozen (Ateller) and vocalist Sami Steves. There is a rotating lineup of guests joining her at the various shows. The tour includes a stop back in New York City at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 on Feb. 24. The Feb. 14 show in Charleston, South Carolina, will be a special Valentine’s Day show. She will invite a number of local artists onstage during the second set to perform an original song and a song from an artist that inspired them.

Following her American Idol appearance, Testone has toured extensively and performed with a variety of artists and musicians. She has appeared on a number of popular television programs, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Live with Kelly, Access Hollywood, Good Day New York and Good Morning America. She has performed several successful tribute shows to artists such as Led Zeppelin, James Brown and Amy Winehouse.
