moe. to Head to the West Coast, Record Live Album

West Coast .rons are rejoicing today with the announcement of a string of moe. dates from San Diego to Washington, including one date where the band will record a new live album.

The legendary jam band from Central New York will play four dates in California, including a show at Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz, then they’ll move on to Nevada, then Oregon and Seattle. The Chris Robinson Brotherhood will co-headline the Seattle and Portland shows.

The run starts April 7 and runs through April 16, with only one day off in the mix. That’s a departure from the recent trend of moe. turning their runs into weekend destinations with two weekend dates in a row at one location, often with a show at a smaller venue the Thursday before.

The new live album is supposed to be recorded at the April 9 show at the Fillmore in San Francisco. No taping will be allowed at that show, but tickets will be sold for just $1.

Pre-sale for the run, except for the Fillmore show, begins today at 10 a.m. PST. General on-sale starts at 10 a.m. PST Friday.

moe. is playing two dates in Colorado Jan. 22 and 23, but that’s the closest that they’ve been to the West Coast in over a year and fans in that area have been chomping at the bit for shows there.

The band also has on their schedule a run in Atlanta scheduled for the end of January, two Baltimore dates in February, and a St. Paddy’s day run in New York City.
