The Jauntee will head out on tour in mid-February to support their latest release Excelsior. The tour includes several northeastern dates as well as a night at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn.
Becoming increasingly popular across the Northeast, Boston-based jamband the Jauntee will head out on a two-month tour with stops along the eastern seaboard, the midwest and several nights in Colorado. The 2016 winter tour kicks off at the River Street Jazz Cafe in Wilkes-Barre, PA, followed by a stop in Gettysburg. After heading south for a few dates, they return to the Northeast with stops at The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ; The Spot in Providence, RI; a hometown show at Thunder Road in Somerville, MA; the Stone Church in Newmarket, NH; and Nectar’s in Burlington, VT. From there, they go west with shows in Ohio and Kentucky before their eight-night run through Colorado. The tour ends on April 3 in Lawrence, KS.
Several friends will be joining the Jauntee throughout their tour, including Albany’s Formula 5 and Brooklyn’s Elephant Wrecking Ball, plus Sprocket and Dopapod. Burlington’s Gang of Thieves will also join in for a show.
The Jauntee has been touring up and down the east coast and traveling as far west as Colorado with a devoted following. They have performed at major northeastern festivals like Catskill Chill and Disc Jam. From the band’s press release:
Drawing influence from a wide variety of acts, the Jauntee’s improvisational landscape spans multiple genres, including funk, rock, jazz, progressive, bluegrass, psychedelic and ambient music. Their willingness to explore genres, abandon all song structure and dive into ‘the weird’ sets them apart from your average upcoming jamband. They aim to push the boundaries of improvisation, embrace the moment and engage the audience.”
