TAUK Announces Winter Headline Tour Dates

Oyster Bay’s heavy funksters TAUK hit the road this winter, playing several headlining gigs beginning at the Ardmore Music Hall in Philadelphia on Jan. 23. The sole New York headlining gig will be at Buffalo Iron Works on Feb. 10. The tour will also include stops in Cleveland, Greensboro and Charlotte.

The band will also join the Umphrey’s McGee tour, opening many of the shows on UM’s winter/spring tour. The bands will also collaborate in several one-off after-parties under the moniker TAUKing McGee. These special shows will feature all four members of TAUK and a rotating cast of two members of Umphrey’s McGee.

TAUK’s relentless tour schedule and unique blend of funk, fusion, hip hop, prog rock, ambient, classic rock and jazz have built them a loyal fan base. Jambase has described the band as, “A young and guaranteed to quickly-ascend band, TAUK, delivers an instrumental demonstration, often reminiscent of Phish and Lotus.”

The band is currently in the studio recording its next album and hopes to have it wrapped before heading out on the road with Umphrey’s McGee in January.

TAUK’s headlining shows are:

1.23.16 The Ardmore Music Hall – Philly, PA
1.27.16 Skully’s Music-Diner – Columbus, OH
2.09.16 The Beachland Ballroom and Tavern – Cleveland, OH

2.16.16 The Southern Cafe and Music Hall – Charlottesville, VA
2.17.16 The Blind Tiger – Greensboro, NC

TAUK’s latest live release, Headroom, packs 16 tracks of TAUKness and features a jam rendition of Nirvana’s “In Bloom” as well as a stellar cover of Tomoyasu Hotei’s “Battle Without Honor or Humanity” from the Tarantino classic Kill Bill, accompanied by The Shady Horns. Check it out here:
