The Voice’s Sawyer Frederick to Play Free Show In Albany

Sixteen year old Fultonville native Sawyer Frederick who has had the nations eyes and ears on him all season on the popular NBC program “The Voice” will be performing a free concert May 6 at Albany’s Palace Theatre.

“We are thrilled to be working with the Palace Theatre to bring the music of Sawyer Fredericks to the Capital Region in a live concert. Sawyer has captured the imagination of the nation on “The Voice”, and we’re proud to support this incredible 16 year old Fultonville artist. We know his fans will support him by watching “The Voice” on WNYT NewsChannel 13 next Monday and Tuesday at8PM, and then voting to move him ahead toward the big finale,” said Steve Baboulis, Vice President and General Manager of WNYT-TV.

“We at the Palace are happy to host this concert and help to bring Sawyer to his fans in this area. This is a great opportunity and will be a wonderful experience for everyone,” stated Holly Brown, Executive Director of the Palace Theatre.

Sawyer has advanced to the top six on the show with his folk meets soul style on Team Pharrell and has crooned such diverse hits as LaMontagne’s “Trouble,” Lennon’s “Imagine” and Buffalo native’s The Goo Goo Dolls “Iris.” Doors at 6:30, music at 8.

Tickets for the performance are COMPLIMENTARY and will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning FRIDAY, MAY 1 AT 10AM. Seating will be General Admission. There is a 2 ticket limit per person. Tickets must be picked up in person at the Palace Theatre Box Office, located at 19 Clinton Avenue in Albany, NY or the offices of WNYT, located at 715 North Pearl Street in Menands, NY. Palace Box Office hours are 10am – 5pm Monday through Friday, and Saturdays 10am – 2pm. The Box Office will remain open through the intermission of the Sawyer Fredericks concert on May 6.

Because “The Voice” will be on hand to record the event, please do not wear clothing or hats with logos or artwork on them. Each lucky ticket recipient will need to sign a release in order to enter the theatre, and please note that ticket holders under 18 will need the signature of their legal parent or guardian.
